Welcome gentlemen...and Dave. Another season is upon us and I think we have all had enough time to come to terms with Brando winning a championship.
Look, it happened, but much like most of 2020 and some of 2021, we have to accept it happened. It's part of our history now, whether we like it or not. Seriously though, congrats Brandon!
Now let's get on with the show so we can quickly get Dave complaining and rattling off his resume for the league.
1) Brandon's Laughing Kookabura (1-0, 190.66 PF)- As the reigning champ and opening the season with the highest week one score, seemed only fitting that Brando should find himself in the top spot. But remember Brandon hasn't had back-to-back playoff seasons since 2015-16, so can he snap his streak of consistent inconsistency?
2) Deloria's Cleverly Named Team Delora (1-0, 156.46 PF)- (Insert regular reminder to Dave that Power Rankings are not just about what your team has done but also about the future projections) Anyways Deloria got solid draft grades and has a solid team that's flying a bit under the radar. And by radar, I mean Dave's bluster. With decent depth it could actually be all about who Jalen Hurts...hurts this season...Deloria or his opponents. So far it's the latter.
3) Will's Fresh Prince of Helaire (1-0, 161.48 PF)- Yahoo!'s darling right now, apparently, as this team is tops in their Power Rankings and projected to finish the season with the most points. If that were to happen it would make Will one of only two teams to finish top three in scoring six times in the last seven years.
The other team that could accomplish that feat...
4) Dave's Carnal Fruitairians (1-0 171.58 PF)- If it were ego Power Ranking, Dave would set up shop at the #1 spot for sure. Heck, if it was biggest mouth, no contest, Dave is #1. But that's not what these rankings are about, my friends. Sadly for us, Dave can usually back up his boasting, as he has scored the most total points across the past six seasons.
5) Kyle's Kyle's Team (0-1, 149.86 PF)- I gotta hand it to Kyle, he has been a quite assassin. You don't hear much from him, no one really talks much about him, but he continues to be pretty consistent. Did you know aside from Will and Dave, Kyle is the only other owner to have made the playoffs in each of the last six seasons? Bet you didn't, but it's true.
6) Jonny's Purple Helmet (0-1, 121.08 PF)- Well this team had the best draft grade according to Yahoo! and, well, Yahoo! not looking so hot with that grade right now. Knee jerk reaction? Maybe? I mean he has Mahomes and that got Brandon the top draft grade and a championship last year, right?
7) Nate's Shirley Stranglers (0-1, 126.28 PF)- Landed on the wrong side of the scoreboard in the first Chitto Bowl of the season. But have you seen that hair?
8) Matt's Marvelous Muzzy's (0-1, 119.1 PF)- A slow start, but this team could for sure be a wild card. Seems like a real boom or bust lineup that could put up a big score just as easily as it could put up a little score.
9) Steve's Stone Cold Steve Austin Ekeler (0-1, 104.16 PF)- I think Steve almost has more letters in his team name than points scored in weak one. Seriously, though Steve got knocked down before he was even out of the gate, it seems.
10) Pete's Peter's Team (0-1, 141.8 PF)- There's a decent chance Pete might not remember he's in this league, but he has a not so bad team anyways!
11) Eric's Coop Her Kupp (1-0, 126.54 PF)- Any friend of Dave's is, well probably a lame duck fantasy manager that Dave can dominate? I kid. Maybe.
12) Larry's Bobsicles (1-0, 111.82 PF)- The surprise week one win didn't move him up the rankings, but who knows what other surprises Larry has in store for us this season?
Good luck, all!
